This is Discovery's 39th and final flight. With the launch of Discovery today, NASA will have launched 133 space shuttle missions. Discovery's first flight was on August 30, 1984, and it is the oldest orbiter in service today. Discovery has traveled 142,917,535 miles, completed 5,628 total orbits and made 12 flights to the International Space Station.

    Thanks for the link! Amazing that many of us have become non chalant about these amazing feats of heroism, bravery and technology. I remember watching with excitement Armstrong and Collins touching down at the Moon on their Apollo 11 mission... Godspeed!
