Note-Worthy: Wish Upon a Hero

When I got home from work on Friday I started channel surfing trying to get bits and pieces of the news.  I stopped on ABC's World News just in time to watch the Person of the Week segment.  Their pick was a charity organization called Wish Upon a Hero.  It is a website where anyone can post a wish and have someone grant it.  The wishes range from very small simple things as wanting to receive a greeting card or asking for advice, to bigger and more elaborate wishes, based on financial needs.

If you scroll down the sidebar of my blog to the "Do small things with great love" block, you'll see listed there other great charity organizations where you can donate.  If you ever wanted to donate to one of them or any other, but you were hesitant because you didn't know where your donation would go exactly, what's different about Wish Upon a Hero is that it allows you to help people directly.

While the World News report was running, I decided to check out this website they were featuring.  I must tell you that it took me forever to get connected to them.  At one point they posted a message stating that due to the overwhelming response during the news segment, the site was currently unavailable and they were working on adding capacity.  Now, if there was ever any doubt in your mind that there are plenty of people out there who need help and plenty of people out there who want to help, well, the proof is in the pudding as they say.

This is yet another charity organization with a beautiful mission and purpose.
